EVO-FORT1 2011 ford flex - will 3X lock remote start work out of the box?

I have a 2011 ford flex.  I would like to add remote start capability - using your 3X lock functionality would be sufficient.  However, it is unclear from your website whether or not this will work out of the box, or will I need to buy/use the flash link programmer?

You will need the flash link updater.

If you look on the page for your vehicle it is listed under required accessories.
