Ford Kuga 2014 Titanium S Auto with push to start - EVO ALL general questions?

+1 vote

Good afternoon.

I'm the proud owner or a 2014 Ford Kuga (Escape) 2,0 l TDCI Titanium S 4WD Automatic with smart-key and push-to-start. It has no security and I'd like to add that and also a remote-starter for hot days. I live I Spain so it gets very hot in the summer time. Anyway, I've checked the market and I've found out that the Compustar FT-7000AS Maxit would be a good choice. I like to add the Slice 2-way LED remote to the system and the EVO-ALL bypass module. What about factory udating the security part? Will it be better integrated? I would then only need to get the EVO-ALL for my remote start.

Also, I would like to retain the factory FOB functions like the remote start by 3x lock button, but I'm wondering what will happen when the car is remote started and if the vehicle needs to be stopped and started again the normal way (when carrying the factory FOB) or if I just could approach the vehicle and go? Does the car/bypass module know that the factory key is now present and would let me go ahead and drive? Or if I only use the Slice RF kit and unlock the car after remote start would it let me go ahead then without the factory key on me?

Brgds

Good afternoon, Robert

Thank you for your reply. However I'm still a bit confused. My car does not have any alarm installed as of yet (no factory alarm). As for the FlashLink I definately will buy one together with all the other stuff.

You refer to the procedure at page 7 where is states that you can enter and drive away using the factory remote after remote start. If not I will not be able to drive away after I remote start the car. It doesn't say if it is remote started by the RF remote or the factory key? My reason for asking is that I'm worried that If I remote start the vehicle, say 1 mile away, one car thief may enter the car and go away with it. Alarm or not!! Or in other words, do I have to enter the car with my smart key on me?? Otherwize the car will not be able to drive if it doesn't detect my factory FOB? Furthermore the car doesn't have a remote starter today and your answer at the final is even more confusing.

I hope that you could elaborate please :)

Anayway, on page 2 it states that:

"Some vehicles must be UNLOCKED to disarm the OEM alarm before remote start. Enable opttion #12 using the FlashLink Manager. When this option is enabled the module will automatically UNLOCK before remote start and LOCK  after the vehicle has remote started." I do not know how this applies to me as ma car doesn't have an OEM alarm??

I'm wondering if I need to carry both remotes with me in order for this to work. If that is not the case, how can the car be driven after remote start by RF kit and if I have to carry both, fine, I'll be able to live with that :)

Thanks again, Robert.

When you remote start the vehicle, if someone enters the vehicle without pushing unlock on the aftermarket remote (compustar remote), the vehicle will shut down. If someone breaks a window and crawls into the car without opening the door, the car will shut down as soon as pushes the brake. Like many cars, you will need to carry both remotes; smart-key and compustar remote.

You do not need to activate/worry about this option for your vehicle.

Forget what I said. I thought you had said your car already had that feature.

Hello again, Robert.

Thanks Robert for quick reply. Now I get it :) you have to excuse me as I'm completely new to this. Never before had a car with remote start or even a push button to start so it was a little unclear. In any case now it is clear and I do not have any problem with carrying my factory FOB as it is quite convenient with all the features it has like the trunk and opening it with a swipe under the bumper when it detects the FOB outside of the car. This is very handy when approaching the car with my hands full :)

FYI I'd like to add a security package and after checking the market I found out about the remote starter option wiich in many cases is included in the packages. I've seen the Compustar Maxit package FT-7000AS with remote start and started to get interested in it and all its tricks. If and when I remote start it wouldn't be a problem for me to also unlock it with the RF remote and then step in and and drive once the car has noticed my factory FOB also is present. I was a litte worried that in the process someone could enter it and go away, but without the factory key this would impossible as I now have been explained, thanks :)

Anyway, Robert what would you reccomend for my bypass the EVO ALL or the Blade AL as they both do more or less the same??

Thanks again, Robert for you help.

Hello Bj
Hello again, Robert.

Thanks! That's what I thought. After checking the EVO ALL and it's functions and also the guide that you gave me, I wonder if it is necessarry at all with an alarm as the EVO ALL would work as an alarm with my car as far as I understand.

Would this be an alternative as long as I carry both remotes and unlock it with the RF remote prior entering and driving away??

Your comments highly appreciated, Robert :)
