20 conductor harness wires too short??

0 votes
I don't understand how people are installing these units, I can't find any way for the wiring to reach the passenger side kick panel.   The wires are at least 1 foot too short on the 20 pin connector so is there a trick to the install or do I need to buy an extension?  I was hoping to not splice in sections of wire but I will if I have too.
purchased the EVO-FORT1 standalone with THAR-FOR1

Wires that are too short are A17-19 on the 20 pin connector "A"

thanks

Typically, yes, technicians would extend wiring when needed.

The driver door pin wire could also be found in the driver kick panel. Same color as at the BCM. Ford likes using green/purple for many different circuits so proper testing will be needed.

that makes way more sense.. I just pulled the schematic, and sure enough the pin on the driver door terminates to the passenger side panel.. I'll tap the bundle on the driver door, and looks like I can also tap all the wires on the driver side of the truck, just have to take some extra trim off, odd the instructions would say use the passenger side, but I guess it's all in one somewhat convenient place.. just would have been nice for the harness to ship with enough wire to use it if that's where they recommend to tap it.

Thanks for the answer!
