Lock x3 will not start my truck, why?

0 votes
I wired the correct wires for the Stand Alone Installation "F". I decided not to use the optional hood pin or the optional parking light wires, and i'm unsure about where to put the "external input" wire. Also, I was unsure about using the valet switch and was wondering if that was optional as well, as I don't have that wired in right now.  When programming, The blue LED flashes when I start my truck with the key, but I can't get my lock x3 to start the truck. It starts fine with the key, both lock and unlock on my remote work, however I can't get it to start with hitting lock 3 times. Any suggestions? My firmware is 74-17 and hardware is 6. My vehicle is a 2007 dodge ram 1500. Please help!

Just noticed that the yellow LED comes on when I start my truck with the key. what does that mean?

yellow led lights up to ignition this is normal.

Make sure in your evoall options that "OEM Remote Monitoring" is ON.

Does the blue LED flash on the module when you push lock on the factory remote ?

The blue led does flash when I push lock on my remote. I don't have the flash thing to change my options, the guide that was sent with it was specifically for my vehicle and said that no additional hardware or software was needed. Any other suggestions?
Options D1 and C1 are not enabled in the EVO-ALL. Enabling the 3x lock options needs to be done at the time of install
How do I access these options?

you need the Flash-Link Udpater to enable options

ahh alright thank you for your help
I got the flash-link updater and enabled the C1 and D1 options. Now my truck tries to start when I hit lock 3x. But it does not roll over, it just tries to start and shuts back off three or four times then stops. Any idea on why this is?
Test your connections going to the MUX and (+)Start. That's all i can say really.
My connection is fine, I believe. I do have one question, however. When trying to remote start, I noticed that the red LED seems like it is trying to come on, but quickly shuts off. Does the failure of that light appearing indicate an issue anywhere? I have not grounded any wires and i'm not sure if maybe I need to?
The RED led is basically there to indicate the system is "on". It should be on during the entire remote start runtime. It turning off as you mentionned is an indicator that something shut off the starter.

If the hood is opened or if the the brakes are on, this will cancel the remote start sequence. A burnt brake light, or tail light may also cause the remote starter to fail.
From my understanding, the hood pin is optional, correct? Because I do not have that set up, currently, and if that will fix the problem - just bypassing that connection -then I will do so. I understand it is a safety feature but I don't entirely feel the need to use it. My brake lights and tail lights are fine. I really appreciate all the feedback in trying to help me troubleshoot, by the way. Thank you so much for your time!

I'm kinda of paid to do this :D. Last resort is to call tech support directly 1-877-336-7797 when you are ready and with the vehicle. Sometimes it will be much easier over the phone then over trying to understand what someone is saying.

When i said the module is seeing the hood pin open, I was not refering to that connection precisely. The connection is optional since in some cases we detect the hood status through the vehicles Can-Bus if the vehicle has a factory hood switch, like your vehicle (may or may not have a factory hood pin). Grounding the input of the EVO would not fix the problem since the analog input for hood status on the EVO will prevent starting if a ground is present. The only way to know if the hood status through Can-Bus is giving you a problem is to disable the hood status option in the EVO (option A11).

The above is not a solution but something to look into.

New update to this thread:

My lock x3 is being recognized now. The red led comes on when I hit lock x3, then the ignition LED come on and starts the truck just enough for the heat to come on for a few seconds then shuts back off. The engine never actually turns over. It will do this about 5 times then stop. Does this indicate a certain option that I need to turn on/off?

 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN (2011-2015)

I tried all that and mine still is not working. I got to the flashing blue light. Took out the key and pressed the lock botton. I tried closing everything and making sure everything was connected. I watched all the YouTube videos i could find and do it just like they do but when i get to the end and press the lock botton 3 times nothing happends. I dont get it. I have been working on this thing for 9 and a half hours and i told the customer it would be a 30min job. Its sunday and customer service isnt open im guessing.

Kamron, the dodge caravan is almost plug and play if you were using a T-harness. Just make sure you have the appropriate options enabled for a 3x Lock start setup (which needs to be done at the time of isntallation). If you post the service number of the eVO-ALL, we can check how the options are set up in the EVO-ALL.

My 2006 dodge is doing something very similair. Were you able to find a solution to this problem?
Every issues are different, what module are you installing in what vehicle ? Please provide the service number written on your module.
Actually, I think you responded to the question that I posted 2 days ago, however, the solution did not work and truck is still not starting. It is an evo all with t harness chrt5 service number 001A06650975.
