How can I stop the factory alarm from sounding when remote starting a 2014 Jeep Wrangler?

+1 vote
I just installed the Evo into my 2014 Jeep Wrangler for the remote start option.  I have noticed,, as others have in a discussion in an online forum, that sometimes the factory alarm sounds when initializing the remote start, and sometimes it does not.  Any solution to that so the alarm does not sound?

Hi Ray,

Most Chrsyler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles will only disarm on remote start when the EVO or aftermarket remote starter is set to unlock before start and relock after.  If you are using the EVO as a stand alone unit (no other remote starter installed) you need to turn on Option 12 (unlock before/lock after start).

Turning on option 12 can be done during the programming of the EVO to the vehicle or by using the Flash-Link Manager.  If you look at the programming procedure, step 7 is there exactly for this. I recommend to reprogram the EVO and when you reach step 7, ground the Purple/white wire of the EVO for about 1 second then continue on with the rest of the procedure.

Follow the programming procedure in this guide:
