When I plug the 6 pin T-Harness connector while pressing the programming button I get a solid RED LED

0 votes
I connected the unit per the wiring diagram specific to my truck a Toyota Tundra 2016 with a G-type key.

I used the plug and play T-harness (TTOY2) and made all the required connections. I managed to get the unit to program in the car but i had some issues with the alarms made some wiring adjustments and disconnected the unit to reprogram it.

When I tried to connect the T-harness to the 6 pin connector on the AX-ONE while pressing the bypass programming button on the unit I get a solid RED LED and the LED by the yellow loop wire constantly flashes. No other connectors are attached when this happens.

If I connect the T-harness without pressing the programming button I still get the solid red LED.

I no longer get the RED, YELLOW, BLUE and then RED, BLUE sequence.

Please help!

Flashing the unit using the FlashLink device, solved the problem of being unable to program the unit.

Thanks to Jesus!

Please do a master reset of the bypass side by following the steps below:

So here it is...

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

The go back to the computer and reflash the bypass firmware, making sure that the Flashlink Manager is in "connection mode:bypass" BEFORE plugging in the evo unit. (you can click on the TOGGLE button a few times before connecting the evo unit and make sure you hear a clicking sound from the flashlink updater)

then reprogram in vehicle.

Thank you,

Thank you for the instructions

Unfortunately the unit is not alternating through the LEDs. Every time I connect it while pressing the programming button I get a solid red LED and thats it. If i connect without pressing the  programming button I get a solid red LED.

If I press the programming button and hold for almost two minutes after the unit is connected there is no change. I still see the solid red LED. No resetting.

My guess is that I will have to reflash the unit using the flash link.

same behavior. when I connect without pressing the programming button I still get a solid red LED
What is the part number of the t-harness you are using ?

Make sure the ground wire is securely connected to bare metal.
Thanks for following up:

I am using the Toyota TTOY-2 harness and the ground is connected to bare metal.

This was a working setup but I needed to make some adjustments and disconnected the unit to attempt to reprogramm it. That's when I started seeing the problem.

I am thinking this is similar to disconnecting the car battery.
If the unit seems to be stuck, please reflash the bypass firmware and do a master reset afterwards, then reprogram to vehicle.

Thank you,
