Programming issue 2010 Colorado

0 votes
Alright.  Since the tech support number is busy again I'll try on here.  2010 Colorado installing an Ultrastart 3295.  I've double and triple checked the connections to ensure I'm on the proper wires but it absolutely will not program properly (wiring style 8 program style 3).  Steps 1 & 2 work (pretty hard to mess them up) but step 3 when I turn ignition to the on/run position the Blue LED turns off (so far so good), the Red LED turns on (also so far so good) but then the red LED never flashes, the blue one does however.  I've tried just going to the next step (start and hold crank for 3 seconds) but the yellow LED never comes on to signal programming is complete.

FWIW, this is a very stripped down version of the colorado (work truck basically) w/ no power locks/windows/etc.

Sorry for the wait on the phone, its a busy day! is your purple/yellow of the EVO connected to the Data wire pin 2 of the OBD2 connector? If the red led never flashes it is not seeing Data on the J1850 wire. Check to see if you have a proper connection at that wire. Make sure you are on firmware v.4.06 on the EVO-ALL. This is the only firmware that will work. You can also try our troubleshooting guide on www.ifar.ca. You select your vehicle and when you get to the guides available you click on tech support, it will bring you to the interactive drop down menu. From there it will be easy to diagnose.

It was a firmware issue.

Now I have a new problem.  The car starts/stops just fine but for some reason the security light flashes.  I'll check the troubleshooting guide as well.
