Evo-all Standalone doesn't program on 2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid PTS

+1 vote
I have installed Evo-All in my 2010 Toyota Highlander PTS Hybrid today and could not program the unit.

a) Can-High wire is not Blue (as per manual), it is Black

b) I couldn't find Ligh Switch Harness, so I didn't connect that wire

c) When I hold programming button and insert data plug, unit alternates between Blue, Red, Yellow colors indefinitely and Blue light didn't turn solid Blue. So I released programming button when it was blue and it stayed solid blue

d) Step 4, pressing PTS button twice didn't start the car

Unit is updated to 79.20 firmware version, all A options are ON, C1 and D1 are ON, D1.6 - 15 minute runtime is ON, D4 is ON. Everything else is OFF.

Please, Help. Thank you,

Michael

a) It is possible that the wire is a different color, make sure the position is the same.

b) The light switch harness is right under the light control arm on the steering wheel.

c) The guide says to release when the LED is blue.

d) Pushing the PTS twice will get ignition to on position. When it's ON the led led should turn off, and after a couple second start to flash. While it flash you can turn ignition off. If the blue led doesn't go off check the connection of the yellow ignition wire.

I will double check wiring positions on CanBus.

I followed programming instructions to the letter and i wasnt sure if in step 4 car has to actually start or just turn lights on.

Lights flash correctly on evoall, but when programming is done and i press 3x lock, dashboard lights up but the car doesnt start.
Can you provide service number written on module ?

CanBus connections are correct.

Found the right Harness for Parking Light inside the steering wheel assembly.

Was on the phone all day with Support Technicians, who suggested I check Wheel Lock wire (which I had to redo but is Ok now).

Then we Reset the module a couple of times, flashed to 79.24, changed Options, went to the car, re-programmed EvoAll but the car still didn't start with 3x Lock.

Tested Red-White wire with a multimeter which gives 12V on Red harness disconnected from Evo-All and no voltage when connected. Tech found it strange and asked whether relay clicks inside evo-all module when I hold programming button and insert data cable. I heard it click! He suggested to replace the module, since the relay is Not suppose to click when you insert data cable while holding programming button.

Is this correct?

Module blinks Blue led light on Lock and Unlock.

Red and Yellow light are on when 3x Lock button is pressed, dashboad lights up, but it doesn't say "READY" and the car is not started.
all your options seem fine. i would try gettin it to work first wihtout the eVO-ALARM option set to on. The only thing left here to check is that steering lock wire. The vehicle will not crank if it is not powered.

After activating the remote start, jump the white/red and white/blue together from the red connector together. If the car still does start this way, check the connections.
I unplugged red connector and tested White/REd (steering lock) wire with a multimeter and started the car regularly, and that wire got 12v impulse, to unlock the wheel. It is spliced properly, I made sure yesterday.

I haven't tried jumping white/red and white/blue wires. Should I touch these wires or just hold them together after pressing 3x lock? Should this be done when red connector is plugged into evo-all or unplugged?

Is it normal for the relay inside evo-all to click when holding programming button and inserting data plug?

You want to jump those wires after pressing 3xlock. You can do this with or without the red connector connected, doesn't matter, all it is is a relay opening / closing the circuit.

Is it normal for the relay inside evo-all to click when holding programming button and inserting data plug?

It will do that in some vehicles.

Thank you Robert!

I have ordered a new module from Amazon.

How would you suggest I proceed? Should I program it again in a car, then flash it to the 79.24 firmware with right options selected, then connect to the car and if 3x Lock doesn't work jump cables?

Thank you so much for your help!
Jumping the cabled DID start up the car, so it just confirmed that my connections were good.

Connected new Evo-All device, flashed, programmed and it WORKS now!!!

BTW, relay inside the new evo-all didn't click.

Thank you guys again for your support!!!
Excellent, I dunno what as up with your first unit but know it works with a new one.
Quick question:

why would Evo-All have Alarm options (horn/siren chirp confirmations) if it doesn't work?

Do I need to hook up Green wire to the Horn wire in the car?

I don't have an alarm system in the car and all I want is an audio (horn) confirmation on lock/unlock pulses.

Please, advice.

Thanks,

Michael
Also, if you have specific knowledge where horn wire is located in the same car, 2010 Toyota Highlander PTS Hybrid? I multimetered many wires and couldn't get a pulse at all.

Wire Color is not very helpful, since they say (-)Horn - gray wire at fuse box. which fuse box, where is it located?

Thanks a bunch,

Michael

It would be the interior fuse box.

THIS IS AWESOME, thank you!!!!!
