Hi Steve,

I have a few quesitions...

Which type of remote starter? I have seen this happen often when using a Compustar in datalink.

Were the doors closed when trying the remote starter? They need to be closed or that exact shutdown will happen.

Which remote are you using to unlock the doors and where is the purple/white wire of the EVO connected?

Hi, I am using a compustar and yes I do have it in idatalink mode.

All doors are closed before start and after sitting inside before brake is applied.

The purple/white wire is not connected because I am in datalink mode and I have also connected my compustar lock/unlock wires directly to the grey/red and grey wires from the bcm, these wires control the locks as well as the anti pinch power windows. Hope the helps! Thanks.

Hi, I am using a compustar and yes I do have it in idatalink mode.

Option 1-

Cut the white wire in the datalink connector and connect the remote starters (+)Start wire to the Red/Blue on the EVO. Also connect the Purple and Purple/White of the EVO to the Lock and Unlock of the remote starter.

Option 2-

forget about datalink completely. Cut both blue and white wires from the datalink connector and do a regular wire-to-wire installation.

Option 3- (Flash-Link Updator required)

With the Flash-Link, update the EVO-ALL to the latest firmware for the vehicle and then turn on option 21.2 - AP/OFA Datalink. Before re-plugging the EVO in the Compustar, also change the compustar datalink protocol to the factory setting, ADS 2-way.

Thanks, I will try option 3 first, seams the easiest for me as opposed to option 2, I'll try option 1 should 3 fail! Thanks again!
No problem! personally i'd just remove datalink since theres only 3 or 4 extra connections that would need to be done between EVO and Compu.
Can you tell me which connections are needed to do as you would prefer?

Cut the blue and white from the datalink connector.

These connections from the EVO need to be connected to the remote starters appropriate wires.

  • (+) Brake Output (A11) - connected to brake input on remote starter
  • (-) Lock (A2) - connected with the Lock wire of the remote starter
  • (-) Unlock (A3) - connected with the Unlock wire of the remote starter
  • (+) Starter Input (A9) - connected to the remtoe starter (+) Starter wire
  • Tachometer Output (A12) - connected to the remote starter tachometer input wire
