EVO ONE Ready Mode Design Flaw

0 votes
I recently had the Fortin Evo One installed on my 2020 Civic Si. Not only is it very finicky on the amount of times lock is required to be pressed to start (sometimes 3, sometimes 4 with no pattern), I have noticed a problem with ready mode I have seen no one talk about. To enable ready mode you must press the brake, engage parking brake, then release the parking brake. The problem with this is you're unable to use your parking brake without enabling ready mode. I was giving a friend a ride and when I had dropped them off I enabled my parking brake so they could grab their things out of the back. Well ready mode had activated and once they exited, as I was driving off the car had shut off while I was driving!!! If anyone has a fix to this please let me know ASAP

Hello,

Timing for 3x lock can take some getting used to, normally about a 1 mississippi pause between each lock press should do it.

"I was giving a friend a ride and when I had dropped them off I enabled my parking brake so they could grab their things out of the back. Well ready mode had activated and once they exited, as I was driving off the car had shut off while I was driving!!!"

This would imply you drove the vehicle with the handbrake engaged after dropping your friend off, otherwise to drive off you would have put the hand brake down which would have cancelled ready mode.

Options for the ready mode sequence are under #33 in the remote starter.

Best regards.

It’s been a while as I have since learned to live with it. The only way Ive found to bypass it is to engage the parking brake without pressing the service brake. It’s sketchy as I have to make sure I won’t roll, but it’s my only option. As for your previous comment, I did release the electronic parking brake but it will still continue to shut off the car as ready mode has already been activated. Even if i’m driving away. Any updates?
