2006 Dodge Ram 2500, auto trans, 5.9 cummins diesel motor

I have a 2006 Dodge ram 2500, automatic trans, diesel motor. I have the following wired up

I have the yellow and yellow wires from pin 20 connected to another yellow wire on t harness.

Have the white/red wire to my starter wire on the truck

Have the white/blue wire to my 12 volt sourc eon the truck.

Have the yellow/red wire cut and using the end closest to the red connector connected to my ignition.

I have the green/red wire connect to my mux wire on the truck.

I have option 15 with diesel selected for 14 min run time.

I follow the programming instructions in the book and the blue led flashes and works like it should.

I press my lock button on the remote three times, the trucks fuel pump, radio turns on. Yet, the truck does not crank, I do not hear the starter making any movement. Everything is working like it should, just the truck does not crank and start/run.

I have tried instructions from 9/20/13 to the latest ones on the website for wiring.

I have also tried firmware-

4.09

4.18

74.07

I reprogrammed the module everytime I changed the firmware and/or wiring with no change. Everything comes on like it is suppose to. Just the truck does not try to crank over or run.

Now if I stick the key in the ignition and crank it over, starts right up. When I press the lock button three times it won't start. I am at a lost at this point.

I did not hook up the hood switch or parking lights, no need to and I do not want them. I follwed the wiring per page 11, letter F. I also followed the programing the remote/module exactly as descirbed and leds flash and do everything they are suppose to. I hit the lock button three times and truck turns the radio, fuel pump, and everything on. Makes no attempt to start the truck or no attempt to crank the truck over at all.

Hi Desert Racer,

What is the 12 digit service numebr written on the back of the EVO?

No crank can be related to no start signal or the MUX not connected on the right MUX wire.

With a multimeter and not a test light, you will need to test both those wires. Especially the MUX. It will read different values depending on which position your key is in the barrel (ignition/accessory/crank/started) when starting with the key. When starting with the EVO, you should be seeing the same values.

  • i.e: Test the Green/Red wire when starting with the key (normal start) and then test when starting with the EVO 3x Lock

I have been helping Desert Racer.

He can't post right now or test the ohms until tonight.

His service number is: 001A06 297546
Hi Robert Tamilio,

The service number is 001A06 297546

I have tested both those wires abd get 1.04 volts when I press the lock button on my remote three times and the evo plugged in. When I manually crank the truck I am getting 1.10 volts without the evo hooked up. Also I tested the white/red wire from the T harness and that is wired into my starter wire on the truck and when I press the lock button three times on my remote I am only seeing .25 volts. When I manually crank the truck over I am seeing 9-11 volts. I think that is the issue.

I am having the exact same issue as the person, "Sean Richardson" in the toyota section, marked, "Should I exchange my unit?" posted on Dec. 19,2013.

My truck is doing exactly what his vehicle is/was doing. I am not sure if you were able to resolve his problem and I am hoping my issue is just as easy of a fix.

Looking forward to your help and thanks!

Option 18 (Hybrid mode) is currently turned on. Turn that off

when I press the lock button three times on my remote I am only seeing .25 volts. When I manually crank the truck over I am seeing 9-11 volts

That option 18 is probably causing that. The white/red is basically the start signal and right now either the:

  1. internal relay is not flicking.   or...
  2. internal relay is flicking but there is no power on the White/Blue wire.
  • Jumping the White/Red and White/Blue together for a few seconds after hitting 3x Lock should answer whether its problem 1 or 2 above.

One thing i'd like to note, since you have already changed the firmware a few times and im assuming reprogrammed the module each time, I`d recommend doing a master reset on the unit. The reset is as follows. (reseting the module also causing it to go back to factory options, so you will need to change that after)

  1. Hold down programming button while plugging in datalink connector.
  2. Let go of button when LED is RED.
  3. Push and hold button again until all three LEDs start to alternate.
  4. Disconnect unit, she is now reset.

You would then need to go back in the flash-link program to turn on Standalone and Diesel options, but not the Hybrid mode. Also, flash the unit to 74.[14] for now.

Thank you Robert! I was able to get the module to work and the truck now has remote start following your directions. Thank you again!
Excellent! Glad it all worked out.
Was wondering what needed up being your issue can’t get mine to turn over having the same issues as you
