Your unit is currently setup for a Dodge Challenger 2017 Push button and has the wrong firmware. https://fortin.ca/en/support/002b02164984/

It needs to be setup for your Subaru with latest subaru firmware 79.42. Module will need to be reset afterwards, reset can be found here: https://cdn.fortin.ca/en/download/61931/61931.pdf

Is this a key model or push-to-start??

On key models... If your immobilizer is not located where it says in the guide, you can always get it at the ECM as per wirecolor.com.

Alternate location for Immobilizer Data. ECM in engine compartment, 65 pin connector. Bottom Connector. Pin 38  -- http://image-5.wirecolor.com/vehiclegroupimage/140178.jpg

I'm not from the company.  This is an unofficial answer so take it as you will.  I'm basically another Subaru owner and hoping to get some feedback with the evo and see how it works because there's a few things I need fixed.  :)

The idatalink page shows pin 14 on the lower right hand harness that plugs into the BCM as the immobilizer.  I don't know if you can link to their page but if you go to idatalink and put in your car information it will pop up with the wiring diagrams for the 2017 outback.

I'd be a little more worried that fortin may not be supported on the 2017 outback if their diagrams aren't correct...  But let me know how it turns out and how all your functions work.

Im not sure where the BCM is located, and can you give me the wire color?

As its late and cold i put the car together and will have to check it in the daytime..

If you can send any pics my email is gmguy12@yahoo.com

Thanks

For my 2018 Impreza, I found the IMO wire at this location....

I just found the IMO wire.  It is the White/Lt.Blue wire on the 20 pin grey connector, on the back of the fuse box.  WireColor.com lists it as the "Body Integrated Unit, connector Q, 20 pin connector, pin 14, White/Lt. Blue"

This White/Lt.Blue wire is much easier to get to than the  "Red/White wire on the green 20 pin connector, on the Junction Connector" that is listed in the THAR-ONE-SUB1 THARNESS Installation guide, Rev. 20180627.
