OEM alarm challenges - EVO -ONE on 2010 Audi S5

+2 votes
I have an EVO-ONE installed in my 2010 Audi S5.  I am using it as an alarm and a remote-start w/ bypass.  Most everything works fine.  However, when we open a door via the exterior door handle, while having the OEM remote/proximity unit on our person, the alarm sounds when we open the door.  But, if we disarm the system using a remote control before opening the door, the alarm of course does not go off.  Is there a setting in the EVO-ONE that we need to change in order for the alarm to turn-off when we use the OEM function of unlocking and disarming by pulling the door handle while the OEM remote on our person?  Or is this not possible?

Thank you,
Sean

Sean, enable OEM remote monitoring in the bypass options, option C1.

Also enable option 38.4 in the remote starter options. This will allow the factory remote to control the EVO-ONE alarm. Basically syncing both alarms no matter which remote you use (aftermarket or original).

I tried changing the above options.  However, I still cannot get the alarm to disable when unlocking via the door handle (with Audi's proxiimty key fob on me).  FYI...  The alarm does disable when using the Audi remote, or my 2 way aftermarket remote.  And 3X lock remote start via the Audi remote works fine.  But the alarm sounds every time I try to unlock and open the door via the door handle.  Any other ideas/suggestions?  Thank you!

Eureka!  I found the root of my issue!  For the Audi S5 (and probably A5 too), you can change the vehicle's settings for how the OEM remote unlocks the doors - either 1) unlock the driver's door on the first press of unlock button and then passenger door on second press of the unlock button, or 2) both doors on first press of unlock button the OEM remote.  This vehicle setting can be changed by going into the 'Car' settings and then selecting "Central Locking" and set it to NOT unlock the driver's door first (mine was set-up to do so originally).  So I changed mine to unlock both doors at the same time, annd magically I can unlock and open my door via the handle (with the smartkey on me) without setting off the alarm.  The Canbus must send a different type of signal when only the driver's door opens first, which the alarm does not recognize (just my speculation).  Yay!

Good to know!

Glad you got it figured out! Issue with the vehicle itself !

Also, thank you for the heads up for future cases if this ever shows up!
Thanks for the update Sean!
